First post
Never had a blog before. This is a test post, mostly, but might as well say more than that.
I’m thinking of three things I want to do as I start up this blog:
- Keep family and friends up to date on what’s going on with me. Where I put pics up of that trip to Bariloche, or when I just shipped a new game, stuff like that.
- Be a publishing and re-publishing site for articles on software and games. I have a bunch of stuff on a personal web site that’s getting long in the tooth. Time to migrate. A blog seems the best way to do this, with all the comments and stuff. Right now I am replying to email I get about my articles one at a time, and most of these conversations should be public.
- Other odds and ends I want to write about.
I’m in the middle of organizing the billion pictures I’ve got for different trips and putting them up, probably on Picasaweb (sorry Flickr). The first bunch of posts will probably just be migrating pics and posting links, and moving articles from my old web site.
I wonder if Blogger is the best choice for this type of thing, especially given that I want to go back sometimes and update the info in a topic. Well, we’ll see. I’m choosing Blogger because it’s a Google property, and I like what they’re doing with Picasa.
