Stop Messing With My Path!
Why do developer tools feel the need and believe they have the right to arbitrarily change my system path? I just installed Komodo Edit, and my new path is:
PATH=C:\Program Files\ActiveState Komodo Edit 5\; C:\Windows\system32; C:\Windows; C:\Windows\System32\Wbem; c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727; C:\Program Files\Perforce; C:\Program Files\Kerio\Outlook Connector (Offline Edition)\
ActiveState – you seriously need Komodo Edit on the system path? Really? What the hell for? And it’s so important that you must put it ahead of the system itself?

Hear hear and what about really bad installers that will not let you install to a location of your choosing, they get me mad,

There’s a nice workaround for this: symlinks. I’ll make this one of my next posts!
